I am a registered nurse by profession, deeply passionate about providing quality nursing care and counseling. Through my work, I have had the privilege of positively impacting the lives of patients under my care—supporting their healing journey and offering both medical and emotional guidance.

Being part of the Youth Engagement & Empowerment Program (YEEP), especially through the mentoring and coaching sessions, has been a transformative experience. The program has not only impacted my own life but also the lives of many of my peers and community members. It has helped us increase self-awareness, develop coping skills, improve communication and relationships, build confidence, and foster a more positive outlook on life. As a result, several individuals who were once jobless have gained meaningful employment and renewed hope.

Additionally, being a fellow of AMS 360CONNECT HUB INITIATIVE has greatly improved my communication skills and equipped me with the ability to present myself better in professional spaces. The support in CV development and career guidance has opened doors for me to access better job opportunities and inspire others to pursue personal and professional growth.

I remain committed to using my nursing profession and the knowledge gained from these programs to empower others, promote well-being, and create lasting impact in my community.

I am an aspiring Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse with a strong passion for promoting well-being and advancing mental health care. My commitment to this field is deeply personal—having overcome significant hardships in my own life, I developed resilience, empathy, and a purposeful drive to support individuals and communities facing similar challenges.

My professional journey began as a volunteer with the Kenya Red Cross Parkland Branch, Bungoma Referral Hospital, and the Mental Health Institute. In these roles, I worked alongside mental health practitioners to support patient care, assist in counseling sessions, and participate in community outreach and stigma-reduction initiatives. I also actively engaged in the Youth Engagement & Empowerment Program (YEEP), where I built inner development skills, strengthened my leadership capacity, and inspired fellow youth to embrace mental health awareness and advocacy.

These experiences have shaped my ability to connect with patients on a personal level, offering compassionate, holistic, and dignity-centered support. My personal story of resilience continues to inspire my calling to psychiatric nursing, driving me to transform lived experience into purpose and to foster environments of recovery, understanding, and hope.
